PAAPP Agility Games Regulation
1.
General Provisions
1.1.
The aim of Agility Games Regulations is to
provide a consistent judging rules and administration of Agility Games
so that all the dogs can participate in a fun and challenging manner. In
line with improving the standard of dog agility sport in Malaysia, this
document shall be revised at least every year by the PAAPP Committee of
office-bearers.
2.
Titles
2.1. Agility
Games Specialist ( A.G.SP) Title Certificate
PAAPP
shall issue the A.G.SP certificate and an A.G.SP trophy to dogs which
attain minimum 25 points. In addition the
below requirements must be met-
2.1.1.
At least a 1st, 2nd
or 3rd placing in all the 8 Games
2.1.2.
1st place= 3 points, 2nd
place= 2 points, 3rd place= 1 point.
2.1.3.
A Clear Round in Basic Jumpers class which
carries 5 points.
(A clear round means that the dog does not make any
course faults or time faults)
2.2
Application must be made in writing on prescribed form to PAAPP
secretary for the A.G.SP certificate. Cost is RM10 for members and RM30
for non-members.
2.3.
Games Certificates
A Games
certificate will be issued to dogs that obtain the 1st, 2nd,
and 3rd placing.
3.
Height classes
3 categories - the Maxi, Mini
and Toy
Maxi- for dogs measuring above
450 mm at the withers (Jump height is 550mm)
Mini- for dogs measuring 300
mm up to 450 mm at the withers
(Jump height is 400mm)
Toy- for dogs measuring below
300mm at the withers (jump height is 250mm)
4.
Eligibility
Open to
all dogs aged above 15 months. Dogs in season are not allowed.
5.
General Rules
5.1.
Elimination- Dog- Any faults such as
dropping a pole, missed contact, missed obstacle, wrong sequence. Dogs
running into restricted area will be eliminated. Handler who goes into
or out of the restricted area will be eliminated.
5.2.
Speed- The fastest 3 dogs will get 1st,
2nd and 3rd placing. Eliminated dogs will not get
a placing. The exception is Tortoise where the slowest dogs are placed 1st,
2nd and 3rd.
5.3.
Handlers are allowed to hold food, toy,
ball in his hand or pockets while playing the games. However handlers
are not allowed to throw food or touch/play fetch/play tugging with the
dogs DURING the execution of the Games.
5.4.
Each Game must have minimum 2 entries in
order to proceed. If only 1 entry the Game is cancelled for that event.
5.5.
Dogs may wear ordinary fabric type or
leather collars. No choke chains or electric collars are allowed. All
Games are performed off-leash.
5.6.
Dogs can be entered in any Games for as
many times as the handler wishes. However dogs that have won

times First Placing for a
single Game will not be allowed to enter that same Game.
5.7.
Only 1 run is allowed for each Game, with
the exception of Basic Jumpers.
5.8.
For Basic Jumpers Class, each dog will be
run off-leash and the best of 2 runs shall be recorded for placing. The
Refusals, Faults and Elimination follows section 8 of the Agility
Document # AR002. From 1st January 2010, no Clean Run Cert
will be issued for Basic Jumpers.
There is no limit to the number of Basic Jumpers to run
your dog, even if your dog has obtained the A.G.SP title. However, once
your dog has started to compete in Novice class, your dog may not
compete in Basic Jumpers.
5.9.
Entry fees- Free for members and
non-members.

7.
Games Design Rules
7.1.
Cheetah
Jumps to
be placed in a straight line as per drawing. All measurements in meters.
The jumps sequence may be changed by the Games Master. Dog is placed at
started point, just behind the red boundary. The handler can hold onto
the dog if required. The handler can stay anywhere outside the boundary
box, left, right or top, behind. The handler is allowed to run anywhere
outside the boundary or remain stationary at the start or at the end of
the sequence. The Games Master will blow the whistle at the start point.
The Games Steward will be at the other end( table ) to start the
stopwatch. He will stop the stopwatch upon the dog landing his 4 paws on
the table.
The Games
Master will blow his whistle to indicate elimination, upon the following
situations-
a)
dog missed a jump or have to retract his
steps to take the jump
b)
dog urinates
c)
dog knock down jumps
d)
dog runs out of the boundary after the
whistle is blown at start
e)
handler runs into the boundary after the
whistle is blown at start
The
timekeeper will record elimination on his score sheet.
Cheetah

7.2.
Kinkajous
Jumps to
be placed in a semi-circle as per drawing. All measurements in meters.
Dog is placed at start point. The handler has to remain in the red box
after placing his dog at the start point. The handler can only move
within the red box. His hands may extend out of the red box. His feet
has to remain inside the red box. Games Master will blow the whistle at
the start point. The handler shall command the dog to start the Game
upon the whistle. The Games Steward starts the stopwatch. He will stop
the stopwatch upon the dog completing the sequence from 1 to 5 and dog
has to pass the finish line before the stop-watch is stopped.
The Games
Master will blow his whistle to indicate elimination, upon the following
situations-
a)
dog missed a jump or have to retract his
steps to take the jump
b)
dog urinates
c)
dog knock down jumps
d)
dog runs into the red box after the whistle
is blown at start
e)
handler runs out of the red box after the
whistle is blown at start
The
timekeeper will record elimination on his score sheet.
Kinkajous

7.3.
Tortoise
Obstacles
to be placed as per drawing. All measurements in meters. The obstacles
sequence may be changed by the Games Master. Dog is placed at started
point. No handler restrictions, handler can be anywhere near the dog,
but not allowed to touch the dog while playing the Game. The Games
Master will blow the whistle at the start point. The Games Steward will
start the stop watch at the sound of the whistle and stop the stop-watch
when the dog crosses the finish line. For this Tortoise Game, the
slowest 3 dogs get the 1st, 2nd and 3rd
placing. Maximum time allowed is 60 secs.
There is
a Joker in the form of the table. The Joker is optional and can be
played anytime during the Game. If handler chooses the play the table,
he has to get the dog to down/stand or sit on the table. The Games
Master will count from 20 to 1. If the dog gets away from the table
during the counting, dog will be eliminated. If dog continues to stay on
the table until 1 ( any position down/sit/down) handler will continue
the Obstacle sequence and cross the finish line to complete the Game.
The Games
Master will blow his whistle to indicate elimination, upon the following
situations-
a)
dog missed an obstacle or have to retract
his steps to perform the obstacle.
b)
dog misses contact points of the contact
obstacles.
c)
dog urinates
d)
dog enters the tunnel at the wrong end
e)
dog does the wrong sequence
f)
dog has passed the maximum time limit of 60
secs (in this case the Games Steward will blow the whistle)
g)
dog runs out of the boundary after the
whistle is blown at start
h)
dog does the wrong course ( wrong obstacle)
after completing the Joker
i)
handler touches or helps the dogs to
perform the obstacles.
Tortoise

7.4.
Munchkins
Obstacles
to be placed as per drawing. All measurements in meters. Dog is placed
at start point. The handler has to remain in the red box after placing
his dog at the start point. The handler can only move within the red
box. His hands may extend out of the red box. His feet have to remain
inside the red box. Games Master will blow the whistle at the start
point. The Games Steward starts the stopwatch. He will stop the
stopwatch upon the dog completing the sequence from 1 to 7 and dog has
to pass the finish line.
The Games
Master will blow his whistle to indicate elimination, upon the following
situations-
a)
dog missed a jump or have to retract his
steps to take the jump
b)
dog urinates
c)
dog knock down jumps
d)
dog enters the tunnel at the wrong end
e)
dog does the wrong course
f)
dog misses any poles or enter the wrong
side ( dog’s right side)
g)
dog runs out of the boundary after the
whistle is blown at start
h)
handler runs into the boundary after the
whistle is blown at start

Munchkins

Jaguar
Jumps to
be placed in a straight line as per drawing. All measurements in meters.
The jumps sequence may be changed by the Games Master. Dog is placed at

after placing his dog at the start point. The handler can only move
within the red box. His hands may extend out of the red box. His feet
has to remain inside the red box. Games Master will blow the whistle at
the start point. The Games Steward starts the stopwatch. He will stop
the stopwatch upon the dog completing the sequence from 1 to 10 and dog
has to pass the finish line.
The Games
Master will blow his whistle to indicate elimination, upon the following
situations-
a)
dog missed a jump or have to retract his
steps to take the jump
b)
dog urinates
c)
dog knock down jumps
d)
dog runs into the red box after the whistle
is blown at start

7.8.
Speed Demon
Jumps and
tunnel to be placed as per drawing. All measurements in meters. The
jumps sequence may be changed by the Games Master. After placing the dog
at the start point, the handler goes into the Red Box.The handler must
remain in the red box during the game. He is allowed to come out of the
red box after the dog completes the 15th jump and he may
‘command’ the dog towards the 16th and 17th jump
and to end the game by ‘commanding’ the dog to the finish line. Games
Master will blow the whistle at the start point. The Games Steward will
be at finish line to start the stopwatch. He will stop the stop watch
when the dog crosses the finish line.
The Games
Master will blow his whistle to indicate elimination, upon the following
situations-
a) dog
missed a jump or have to retract his steps to take the jump
