The following persons received their Provisional-level Agility Judging license-KK Chuah, Clement Teh, Peter Moey Ho Wai Ping, Maureen Khoo, Patricia Chen, Alexis Yeap, Pauline Lee, BH Ooi and Rudy S. The B-level Obedience judging license was presented to Sue Yeap, while the L-level Obedience Judging license was presented to Patricia Chen and Steven Tan.

Why Dog Family Day? It's because our dogs have become important part of our family. What more to be able to come together as one big family in a safe environment. To make new friends, exchange ideas and enjoy the time with our dogs, friends and families is a great reward for many dog owners. Since the inception of the association in 2000, this is the 1st Family Day organized by PAA and we hope to make this an annual event.

There were many events lined up for the 2 days. 3 Agility trials conducted on Saturday and Sunday saw a record 100 entries (all classes combined). The classes included Basic Jumpers, Elementary, Novice, Open, Gamblers 1 and Gamblers 2. Twenty-one clean run certificates were issued and two Gamblers 1 Certificates were issued. Gamblers 2 and Open courses posed the most challenge for the dog-handler teams.

The Dog Parade by 30 dogs, handled by members was really nice. The dogs behaved well and walked 4 rounds while Donna Chee (secretary) gave a quick description of the various breeds of dogs. Next the DOS Line dancers from Butterworth gave two dance performances before the Dog Fancy Dress Show. The winner of the Fancy Dress was Jou-Jou, 16 months old Toy Poodle owned by Pamela Chin.

The Pet-N-You dog squad, lead by Susan Teh from Kuala Lumpur gave dog tricks performances, frisbee demo and flyball demo with their dogs- Russell, Groovy, Kimi (Jack Russell Terriers), Cami (Cairn Terrier), Junior ( Silky Terrier and Angel (Border Collie). Not forgetting to mention Groovy, giving a Musical Freestyle demo.

The local Penang dogs- the three retrievers- Kofi, Quinssie and Jackie also gave some Obedience tricks and scent discrimination exercises.

We also thank Michael Lee from Tigerland Dog Academy for giving a demo on Schutzhund Obedience and Protection with 2 of his dogs.

Congratulations to the four Silver Medalists- Rightroyale's Kofi, M.A.CH, CD, GD; Groovy, M.A.CH, GD; Rose of Festive, CD; Angel, M.A.CH. Silver medals are awarded to dogs that earned 40 points while competing in PAA trials such as Agility, Obedience or Flyball. Next year, we will see more Silver Medalists and also Gold Medlaists. Gold medals are awarded to dogs that earned 80 points in their trialing career with PAA.

Finally, we thank the Sekolah Rendah Sri Pinang's continuous support to let us use the beautiful field for our grand event. In Penang, there are not many places that allow dogs, and we are grateful that the school headmaster Mr. Cheah is a very understanding man.
