Two great news for all members!

Firstly, a great milestone for the agility sport in Malaysia : Persatuan Agility Anjing Pulau Pinang is  now a member of IFCS (international Federation of Cynological Sports). We are now waiting for further formalities to be completed and we will soon see Malaysia's flag in the official IFCS website.

Secondly, we are pleased to have Cathy Slot from ADAA (Agility Dog Association of Australia,Ltd) to fly to Penang from 18-22 September to certify PAA Agility Judges and to judge PAA's 32nd and 33rd Agility Trials. We will also be planning a 4-hour workshop session for members to ask questions on agility training. This is most likely be on the next day after the trials.

Cathy Slot's profile

Cathy is a successful Agility trainer, competitor and Judge. Cathy started Agility in 1992 with her male German Shepherd Dog (Zac) and still remains an ardent supporter of the breed, although she recently started competing with her young German Koolie, Porsche. She is the co-founder, and current Chairman, of the Agility Dog Association of Australia Ltd (ADAA) and a member of ADAA's Judges Management Committee. She was the second handler in Australia to achieve a Master Australian Agility Dog (MAAD) title with her female GSD (Bo MAAD).

Cathy was one of the first dog trainers in Australia to develop practical training programs using a Clicker suitable for use in classes in her role as Chief Instructor and Committee Member of the Agility Dog Club of Queensland Inc (ADCQ). She has conducted seminars around Australia, and with husband Steve, in Malaysia and has also attended Agility training in the UK. In 2008, Cathy judged (and provided administerial assistance) at the IFCS World Agility Championships held in Belgium, having previously attended the 2004 IFCS World Agility Championships held in Spain.

Cathy regularly travels to the US and Canada to train with, and watch the best Agility experts in the world, and under her and Steve's business (Yunde Canine Enterprises) brings out trainers to Australia to work with Australian handlers.

Cathy will be judging Open Class Agility and Jumpers with Weaves (Open) during her time in Penang. She is kind enough to give us 2 of her courses at international level. Take a look and prepare your dogs for the September trials!
