16 May, 2009 Volume 3, Issue 4 By Sue Yeap October 2010 will be an important milestone for the organization. Yes, PAAPP will be 10 years 'young' and we will be celebrating PAAPP's 10th year anniversary in December 2010. To commemorate the association's 10th year anniversary, we have planned the following additional trophies and awards for our members to work towards- 1. Grand Masters and Masters Handlers Cup 2. Agility Dog of the Year for Maxi, Mini and Toy categories. We also hope to invite judges from ADAA (Agility Dog Association of Australia, Inc) to judge the agility trials in December 2010. The PAAPP's Agility Judges training and Certification program conducted in conjunction with the ADAA Inc (Agility Dog Association of Australia) is confirmed from September 18th (Friday) to September 22nd (Tuesday). 7 participants have confirmed their attendance. If anyone still interested to join in, please contact Sue (012-4015882) before end of May, as seats are limited to maximum of 10. As mentioned earlier, if you are not interested to sit for the examination but would like to come learn about agility course building and improving your handling skills, you are most welcome to join in. Grand Master Handler's Cup and Master Handler's Cup- Eligibility and Rules 1.Handlers must be PAAPP members to qualify for consideration. 2. Agility Runs from January 2009 to October 2010 only are within the scope for Agility Handlers Cup. Classes eligible are Elementary, JWW, Veteran, Novice, Open, Gamblers Test 1 and Gamblers Test 2. 3. Application must be made to the Secretary in the prescribed form and emailed to paapp@agility-penang.com between 1st to 15 November 2010. Application fees is RM30 for each handler. Late applications WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 4. 2 points are awarded for each clean run certificate ( or Gamblers Cert) for handling own dog. 4 points are awarded for handling dog belonging to another person. The owner of the dog may be a member or non-member of PAAPP. 5. The final results (based on verification of authenticity of application for Handlers Cup) will be announced during the December 2010 trials. There will be 2 cups- Grand Master Handler's Cup and Master Handler's Cup, personalized with the handler's name for the top 2 highest points. Agility Dog of the Year (Maxi, Mini and Toy categories)- Eligibility and Rules 1.Owners and handlers of the dog MUST be PAAPP members. 2. Agility Runs from June 2009 to October 2010 only are within the scope for this award. Classes eligible are Basic Jumpers, Elementary, JWW, Veteran, Novice, Open, Gamblers Test 1 and Gamblers Test 2. 3. No application is required, the clean runs will be tracked by the secretary. 4. There will be 3 Agility Dog of the Year awards- for Maxi, Mini and Toy categories. The dog that accumulates the maximum number of Clean Runs (from any class as per Rule # 2) from June 2009 through October 2010 wins the award. If there is a tie, there will be a run-off at the last trial of 2010 to decide the winner. 5. The final results will be announced during the December 2010 trials. Photo album has been updated with the recently concluded Agility Trials, Agility Games and Obedience Games.
